Theme of this novel is the following verse of Quran Karim:
7:172 AND WHENEVER thy Sustainer brings forth their offspring from the loins of the children of Adam, He [thus] calls upon them to bear witness about themselves: “Am I not your Sustainer?” – to which they answer: “Yea, indeed, we do bear witness thereto!”  [Of this We remind you,] lest you say on the Day of Resurrection, “Verily, we were unaware of this”;
The author says Pakistan was created in accord with Promise of “Am I not your Benefactor?” but most of its rulers, intellectuals, ulemaa and generals fell for money and compromised basic principles of Islam such as supporting fellow Muslims from onslaught of anti-Islam powers. Money has become criterion for success in the society, not character or morals. Every principle can be compromised for money including sovereignty of Pakistan. Not just the anchors, but the ruling elite, Judges and army general are for sale to the highest bidder. Police and intelligence agencies fail to provide a safe environment to common man. Pakistan students are being taught secular curriculum and copy the morally decadent culture of west and even shameless culture of India.
But she is hopeful that Allah SWT will support Pakistanis to regain their lost fire and return to teachings of Islam. She lays emphasis on role of mothers in educating the children. The paradise is under the feet of mothers not for just taking the pains of childbirth, but due to their efforts to educate their children in an Islamic way. A child can never forget the loving lesson of his/her mother however secular his/her education is.
The author reminds Muslim mothers of their duty of educating their children in accordance with Islam. This will ultimately make Pakistan a true Islamic state that meets the promise of Alast.
The novel is interesting and touches upon current issue. It also points out at growing racism in the UK that is causing problems for Pakistanis living there. The author laments how Pakistani media is overlooking plight of Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom. Even Roman Catholic Irish people hate Pakistani Muslims.
Solution lies in obeying Allah’s Commands and being faithful and sincere Muslims.
